Mortson actually passed away a little more than three months ago … rest in peace, sir. Not many Blackhawks captains have racked up more than 100 losses (nine), and most still have or almost have a winning record in spite of it. But the teams Mortson captained saw little success, though Mortson produced decently from the blue line. Mortson managed to win four Stanley Cups with Toronto before coming to Chicago, but he couldn’t replicate that success with the Blackhawks. He did, however, manage to rack up more than 100 penalty minutes in three of his six seasons with the club.
