Biggest Comeback Ever

In 2009, the Chicago Blackhawks were facing the Calgary Flames at the United Center. The Blackhawks gave up five first-period goals to the Flames, but one thing we all know about teams that are coached by Joel Quenneville, they never give up.

John Madden started the ’Hawks on the comeback trail with a late first-period goal to cut the lead to 5-1, and then the Chicago Blackhawks came out flying in the second period behind Patrick Kane who scored the second goal of the game and then assisted on the the next two goals.

Patrick Sharp scored the game-tying goal early in the third period, and then Mr. Overtime Brent Seabrook scored the game winner to give the ’Hawks the improbable comeback 6-5 in overtime.  It was a huge win for the ’Hawks during the 2009-2010 campaign and it seemed to give them the confidence that no matter what the scoreboard read, they were still in the contest.

Oh, and it’s their biggest comeback in franchise history.
