Winning On Home Ice

The Chicago Blackhawks possibly didn’t deserve to have a 3 game to 2 lead when entering Game #6 of the Stanley Cup Final, but sometimes a veteran team with superstars find a way to pick up victories when they aren’t the best team on the ice which pretty much sums up the Tampa Bay series last summer.

The Blackhawks came home with a 3-2 lead with the chance to win the first Stanley Cup on home ice since 1938.  The game was super tight with everyone on the edge of their seats.

Duncan Keith

who would win MVP of the playoffs was the first to crack the scoresheet when he scored off his own rebound.

The game still looked like it go either way until late in the third period, Brad Richards put a perfect no look pass on the tape of Patrick Kane for the insurance goal.

The seconds would get counted down and the Chicago Blackhawks would win their 3rd Stanley Cup in 6 seasons.  A truly magical night at the United Center.
