Kane’s Late Game Goal, Hossa’s OT Magic Vs. Nashville

The Chicago Blackhawks were the favorites to win the Stanley Cup in 2010, but they ran into the one team that could really stymie their offense in Barry Trotz’s Nashville Predators.

The Predators were led by Pekka Rinne, who seemed to stop anything thrown his way that season, including a majority of shots in the opening0round matchup against the Blackhawks.

The ’Hawks were trailing with seconds left with Marian Hossa in the box for a five-minute major when some ’Hawks magic resulted in game-tying goal by Patrick Kane.

Of course this wouldn’t be a great moment to be thankful for if the ’Hawks didn’t eventually win the game. Hossa came out of the box for his boarding major early in overtime, and the puck found his stick right alongside the net. In short order, the game was over with the ’Hawks heading to Nashville with a 3-2 series lead.
