Jonathan Toews Scores In First NHL Game
Jonathan Toews has meant so much for the city of Chicago and the fans of the Blackhawks since being drafted by the ’Hawks in the first round of the 2006 draft. He’s been the captain for three Stanley Cup Championships and a role model for so many young kids.
It all had to start somewhere, and for No. 19 it all began at the United Center against the San Jose Sharks. Toews took a feed from Brent Seabrook with a chip to himself and then generated a perfect roof shot for his first NHL goal in his first NHL game.
Two things you notice while watching the video: There is no Chelsea Dagger after the Toews goal, and the San Jose Sharks announcers talk about how they said this kid was going to be good. Little did they know that Toews wouldn’t just be good in the NHL, but he would be the name most GMs would want to build their franchise around.
