Chicago Blackhawks Vs Ottawa Senators: TV Listings, Predictions, & More

By Keith Schultz

Remember how excited we were on Tuesday that the Chicago Blackhawks were done with the circus trip and back at home inside of the United Center, and now after one game back home the Blackhawks are back on the ROAD AGAIN.

So, here we are watching the Chicago Blackhawks again in their road whites (really wish they would go back to that being their home jersey) and hoping that the bonding the team did on the road on the west coast will carry over to Ottawa and a matchup against a team that is very streaky.   Ottawa didn’t look like a playoff team last season until the Hamburgler stole the show and the Senators ran off a bunch of wins to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Now the Senators are on the bubble of being a playoff team or not and they have been pretty average most of the season giving up quite a few goals, but they have plenty of talent to put the puck in the net as well.

The Chicago Blackhawks need to find anyone not playing on the 2nd line to play with some consistency.  Yesterday, Joel Quenneville mentioned that he thought Marian Hossa was close to playing at a high level, so I expect him to be back with Jonathan Toews tonight with either Teuvo Teravainen or Marko Dano.  The Blackhawks have to get some balance because the 2nd line just can’t score 2-4 goals a game to carry the team during a 82 game season.  They are fun to watch and are very productive, but the Hawks need some depth scoring to show up sometime this season.

The Blackhawks are playing in the eastern time zone tonight which means an early game so here are the details for tonight’s matchup.

On to the predictions part of the program,  I predicted a shootout and got a 2-1 game so this was pretty depressing.  I did sneak in one prediction correctly with Patrick Kane picking up the 2nd star of the night.

Final Score Prediction–  The Hawks get back to the winning ways and this will be a fun offensive game with the Hawks winning 5-4 with goals from the Captain Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, and Andrew Shaw.

Three Stars Prediction

#1 Star- Marian Hossa with a goal and an assist

#2 Star- Duncan Keith with 3 assists

#3 Star- Bobby Ryan with a goal and an assist
