Here we are, creeping closer and closer to Christmas.  There’s only one weekend left to get your Christmas shopping done.  But nobody panic; just buy everyone Chicago Blackhawks gear!  Speaking of the Chicago Blackhawks, they shut out the Winnipeg Jets 2-0 on Friday night, and then wrapped it up with a 4-0 blanking of the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night. That’s right, two shutouts and two victories in a row! The Hawks have now won 4 of their last 5 games, and are currently second in the Central Division.  Here are my 5 takeaways from this weekend’s games.

5.  God Bless Corey CrawfordIt’s pretty hard to talk about two shutouts in a row and not give some kudos to the goaltender.  I just can’t say enough about how Corey Crawford has been playing lately.  Sunday’s tilt marked his fourth shutout of the season, and the 16th of his NHL career.  He stopped all 25 shots on Friday, and made 30 saves last night.  To quote Coach Q, “He’s composed, square, solid, anticipating, quick, very efficient.  Rebound control in order…Real good.  Fun to watch.”

That’s an awful lot of adjectives!  But Crow is worthy of all of them right now.  And yes, it certainly is fun to watch.
