Chicago Blackhawks Vs Buffalo Sabres: TV Listings, Predictions, & More

By Keith Schultz

The Chicago Blackhawks make their way to the city of Buffalo for their only meeting in upstate New York to face the Sabres.  This is normally a game that everyone talks about the homecoming of Patrick Kane, but after the events that transpired this summer we are going to steer clear of that storyline and focus on the game at hand.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be playing their first game of the season without their trusty fourth line center and penalty killer extraordinaire Marcus Kruger who in all intents and purposes is out for the rest of the regular season after dislocating his wrist during Thursday nights win over the Edmonton Oilers.  This is a bigger loss than some outsiders will think, but Chicago Blackhawks organization did call up Phillip Danault whom they have been grooming as the next Kruger so we will see how close the two can mirror each other.

Corey Crawford has been on fire as of late picking up another shut out victory the other night and making it 3 out of four in his last four starts.  He’s tracking the puck great and not giving up the easy goal that has been a downfall in earlier seasons of #50 in between the pipes.

The biggest storyline from the other night had to be that the Hawks actually got some scoring from their top line which and they looked dominant doing so. Marian Hossa who many are starting to right off as over the hill looked awesome on Thursday night as did Jonathan Toews who is off to one of his least productive seasons of his career, but they both along with Teuvo Teravainen picked up 3 points on Thursday.

The Sabres are still in rebuilding mode, but they have a building block in Jack Eichel who’s scored 9 times in the first 33 games.  Ryan O’Reilly has been filling in the stat sheet for the Sabres so he’s the one to keep your eye on today.  Here are the listings for today’s early game.
