The NHL holiday break gave me some time to focus on other things besides hockey, like family, friends and Star Wars. Last week, there were not many games played, but we still had movement in our NHL power rankings. We also had a trade between Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens for two pieces of hot garbage. The World Junior Championship kicked in Helsinki with the U.S. defeating Canada on the opening day. The U.S. has not advanced past the quarterfinals since 2013.

But back to the NHL power rankings. Let’s see what this week holds.
