July 1st, 2015: Viktor Tikhonov signs a 1-year $1.04 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks

Initial Reaction: The Blackhawks acquired another Russian player who had success in the KHL.  Tikhonov had amassed 27 points with SKA St. Petersburg, the same team Panarin played with.

Current Assessment: Tikhonov was a bust with the Blackhawks. He appeared in 11 games, averaging 10:17 minutes per game and amassed zero points. Tikhonov was waived by the Blackhawks and claimed by the Phoenix Coyotes. He hasn’t done much better with Phoenix, recording 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points.
