September 11th, 2015: Marcus Kruger, center, signs 1-year, $1.5 million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks

Initial Reaction: The Blackhawks finally re-signed Kruger. Kruger has been valuable fourth-line center and penalty killer. He was responsible for ending the longest game in franchise history last season.

Current Assessment: Kruger is currently on IR with a wrist injury. This deal was a gift from Kruger to the Blackhawks. The Blackhawks will reward himm with his next deal. He is a part of the Blackhawks’ core.
