September 20th, 2015: Michal Rozsival, defenseman, signs a 1-year, $600,000 contract with the Chicago Blackhawks

Initial Reaction: WHY? Rozsival was slow before his season-ending ankle injury in last season’s playoffs, and now the Blackhawks are bringing him back. He is everyone’s favorite whipping boy on defense and coach Joel Quenneville’s favorite bottom-pair defensemen.

Current Assessment: Rozsival has been a serviceable defenseman and the Blackhawks are lucky to have him. They are short on serviceable NHL defenseman.

Grade: C
