March 25th, 2015: Kyle Baun, right wing, signs a 2-year, $1.85 million contract with the Blackhawks

Initial Reaction: The Blackhawks get the most sought after college free agent this year. Baun recorded a career-high 29 points in 38 games. Eighteen teams had shown interest in Baun, and the Blackhawks were able to sign him.

Current Assessment: Baun appeared in 3 games with the Blackhawks in 2014-15. He had shown some promise and generated some buzz. He had a great offseason in 2015 and made the Blackhawks out of training camp. He stunk in his 2 games with the ’Hawks this season and was sent down to Rockford. He went from a third-line NHL player to a third-line AHL player in 2 games. Baun has appeared in 12 games at Rockford and is a minus-3.
