The Chicago Blackhawks put their 7 game winning streak on the line against their Central Divisional Rival the Nashville Predators at the United Center tonight.

Both teams are traveling in different direction in the Central Division Standings.  The Hawks are moving in the right direction winning 7 straight games and going 8-2 in their last 10 games.

The biggest improvement from the Chicago Blackhawks in the past few games has been getting more balanced scoring from their lines.  Two games ago it was Phillip Danault scoring the game winning goal from the third line, and Sunday night it was the return of Marian Hossa to the goal scoring sheet as he potted two goals and the Captain Jonathan Toews had a goal and 2 assists in the Hawks 6-3 win over Colorado.

This secondary scoring has been the biggest thing missing from the offense with Patrick Kane and Artemi Panarin carrying the heavy lifting for almost the entire first half of the season.  The other story in the past 10-15 games has been how great Corey Crawford has been in net. He’s been rock solid with some shutouts and he will be back in net tonight.

The Nashville Predators are falling in the standings and their lack of offense forced their GM’s hand and he made a big trade sending Seth Jones to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Ryan Johansen.  The move hasn’t brought immediate results with the Preds dropping both games with Johansen in the lineup.

The real issue for the Predators has been that All-Star goalie Pekka Rinne hasn’t been playing at an all world level during this streak. Rinne is still a very good goalie, but he’s giving up almost 3 goals per game in the last 10, and with the Predators offense struggling his play hasn’t been able to carry the team.

It’s usually a tight fought game when these two rivals hook up, and here is the viewing information for tonight’s contest!

On to the predictions, I got the Blackhawks victory correct and that Marian Hossa would score ,but besides that I didn’t too hot on the predictions so it’s time to move on to tonight.

Final Score Prediction- This seems like a game the Hawks should dominate, but my guess is that it will be a much closer game than expected so i’ll go with the Hawks winning 3-2 in overtime.  Jonathan Toews with the OT winner and Artem Anisimov with a late game goal to tie it up.

Three Stars Prediction

#1 Star- Jonathan Toews-Game Winning Goal

#2 Star- Corey Crawford

#3 Star Pekka Rinne
