The Chicago Blackhawks have now tied their longest winning streak in franchise history, and they sit on top of the Central Division standings after a slowish start to the season even under their own standards.  The Hawks have added a bunch of new parts to their core this season, and they lost Marcus Kruger for the rest of the regular season yet since the calendar turned to 2016 they haven’t notched a loss this year.

The two biggest differences you can see in the Chicago Blackhawks in January is that the top line of Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa has started to heat up especially the Captain who scored two more goals last night.  The Blackhawks were being carried by Patrick Kane, Artemi Panarin, and Artem Anisimov all season long, but with the top line and an occasional bottom 6 member scoring the balance is back in the Chicago Blackhawks attack.

The other thing that has changed when the Blackhawks traded Trevor Daley away and recalled Erik Gustafsson.  The young defenseman can move the puck, and like last night has some real offensive game setting up Richard Panik on the Hawks first goal of the night.  The Gustafsson call up settled down the defensive pairings and this is really where you see the biggest improvement for the Hawks in January.

The Hawks are red hot right now, and here are some morning links to kick off you work week.
