The Chicago’ Blackhawks schedule is crazy this week. After defeating the New York Rangers on Wednesday night, The  Blackhawks traveled to our nation’s capital and meet with the President Barack Obama. Now Obama has been spoiled as President, as the Blackhawks have visited him three times while he was in office. Obama made sure to recognize Scott Darling and Kimmo Timonen in his address to the media.

Now, the Blackhawks will travel to Minnesota for the Stadium Series game against the Wild. The game will be played during the “Hockey Weekend” in America.

While the Blackhawks appear to be surging once again, their opponent in the Stadium Series is sinking and fast. Last week the Wild fired head coach Mike Yeo and replaced him with their AHL coach, John Torchetti. Torchetti will be the interim coach for the rest of this season. Torchetti has ties to the Blackhawks. He was an assistant coach under Joel Quenneville from 2007-10. Torchetti is 2-0-0 as the Wild head coach.

Blackhawks fans will have to get their hockey fix elsewhere until Sunday.
