The Chicago Blackhawks were embarrassed on Sunday afternoon, outdoors on National TV, and tonight they get a chance to redeem themselves once again on National TV with the Nashville Predators making their last regular season appearance at the United Center tonight.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been a feast or famine team this season.  At times this year they look like a team that no other team in the NHL could defeat in a 7 game series, and then at other times they look like a hot mess like they did on Sunday with their defense looking nonexistent for the first two periods and Corey Crawford looking less than focused on the task at hand.

The Chicago Blackhawks have fallen out of first place with the Dallas Star who had games in hand winning enough to take a 2 point lead in the Central Division.  The Blackhawks are now in second place with a 2 point cushion in second place over the injury riddled St. Louis Blues so as just like any other time in the season, every two points is crucial in the playoff jockeying in the Central Division.

The Hawks will be looking for some more goals.  They scored 12 in two games before putting up one lonely goal against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday which goes back to the season story for the Chicago Blackhawks.  If the Blackhawks 2nd line isn’t producing at a high level the Chicago Blackhawks offense struggles.  So tonight will be another audition for the Hawks cast to find some secondary scoring that can show any type of consistency.

The Nashville Predators will be looking for 2 points as well though they are stuck in the #1 Wild Card position 5 points ahead of the Minnesota Wild who are on the outside looking in.  The Predators after a good start fell on to some seriously hard times especially getting pucks in the net, but they have found some offense since the All-Star break and are a respectable 5-2-3 in their last 10 games.  It should be a fun Central Division showdown tonight, and here are the listings for tonight’s contest.
