The Chicago Blackhawks faceoff tonight against their biggest rival in the Central Division, and tonight the rivalry takes on a bigger drama with first place in the Central for the taking.  The Dallas Stars picked up a point last night in an overtime loss in Montreal, and now the Hawks with games against the Blues and Dallas Stars Friday can take over the top spot in the Central.

The Chicago Blackhawks should be getting a big piece of their Stanley Cup puzzle back today if Marian Hossa gets back in the lineup tonight which is the hopeful plan.  The thought of the line of Hossa with Jonathan Toews and Andrew Ladd has everyone in Hawks camp pretty excited since the Ladd deal was made before the NHL trade deadline.

The one thing from yesterday’s lines that concern me is Andrew Shaw back at center.  Granted it’s on the 4th line so it’s not that big of a deal, but it goes to show how much Joel Quenneville likes his guys and even though everyone agrees Shaw’s spot is on the wing tonight brings us back to Shaw up the middle.

The Chicago Blackhawks issues on the back end are the biggest issues in my opinion, and the biggest question I have is Trevor van Riemsdyk.  It sure doesn’t seem like his play has progressed this season and that is a concern heading into the playoffs.  The question is how much does the coaching staff like the play of Christian Ehrhoff.

The St. Louis Blues are an interesting case as of late, they have struggled with injuries to key players like Alex Steen, but they have hit a hot streak despite the injuries and now have first place on the radar while facing the Chicago Blackhawks tonight on home ice.  Here is the viewing info for tonight’s contest from Scottrade Arena.

On to the predictions part of the program, and I hit the Corey Crawford #1 Star of the Game on Sunday so I have that feather in the cap, and now it’s on to tonight’s game.

Final Score Prediction– In what should be a real good game, an Andrew Ladd third period goal gives the Hawks a 4-3 victory and first place in the Central Division.

Three Stars Predictions

#1 Star- Jonathan Toews– 1 Goal 1 Assist

#2 Star- Vladimir Tarasenko– 1 Goal 1 Assist

#3 Star- Patrick Kane– 2 assists
