Sweden

Erik Gustafsson is one player that showed some flashes of being a solid defenseman for the Chicago Blackhawks and then at times he made plays that really made him deserve breaks in the press room.  Gustafsson played in 41 games not scoring but picking up 14 assists.

Gustafsson is a quick skating puck moving defenseman, and the fact that he will be getting more meaningful playing time during the World Championships is good news for me.

Finland

Finally, the last player from the Chicago Blackhawks prospect pool to be playing in the World Championships is Ville Pokka.

More from Blackhawk Up

The player discussed the most by fans during the struggles of the Chicago Blackhawks defense was Pokka. The Finnish defenseman played in 76 games for the Rockford Ice Hogs this season scoring 10 times while picking up 35 assists.

Pokka as we all know never made it to Chicago, so it will be fun watching him on the ice in a big stage like the World Championships.
