Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks fans!

The Chicago Blackhawks have two prospects playing for Team USA in the World Championships in the way of Vincent Hinostroza and Tyler Motte, and yesterday Team USA pulled off a pretty big upset in the Quarterfinal round of the World Championships.

While most of the teams at the World Championships are stocked with NHL pro’s, team USA is mostly young players and prospects or rookies like Dylan Larkin, so the other day they squeaked into the Medal tourney part of the World Championships with a overtime loss.

On Thursday they took on the #1 seed Czech Republic and pulled out a USA upset. Granted let’s not get carried away, this isn’t like Team USA beating the Russians in 1980 at Lake Placid but it’s a pretty big upset for the talent assembled on Team USA.

The good news is we get to watch the Chicago Blackhawks prospects try to win a medal and upset an even bigger powerhouse in Canada.  They played each other in the opening round and after Team USA scored first it was all Canada the rest of the way in the 5-1 victory.  So it will be a big task for Team USA to advance to the Gold medal match.

The one player that has been exceptional for Team USA is the Auston Matthews.  He scored the game tying goal yesterday and won it in the shootout.  Toronto Maple Leafs fans have to be drooling about getting this player on their roster next season.
