Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- So Close, Yet So Far

By Keith Schultz

Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks fans!

So yesterday afternoon the Chicago Blackhawks had two prospects playing for Team USA and they had Team Canada on the ropes when Chicago Blackhawks prospect Tyler Motte scored in the 2nd period to give Team USA a 3-2 lead.

Unfortunately, Team USA couldn’t keep the lead heading into the 2nd intermission, and then Team Canada scored in the third period and although they had plenty of chances Team USA just couldn’t get one past Team Canada goalie Cam Talbot.

So, Team USA was sent to the third place game and although they battled hard like good college kids and young prospects, they just couldn’t get it done and they settled for 4th place which is still much higher than anyone expected when the Team USA roster was announced.

Both Team USA Chicago Blackhawks prospects played pretty well and ended up with the both stat line in the tournament.  They both scored one goal with 2 assists, and now Chicago Blackhawks fans have to wonder if either prospect will make it on the roster sometime next season.

Team Canada did end up winning the tournament so Team USA was so close yet so far from winning the entire thing.  It still great to cheer on our country that is for sure.
