Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!
The question heading into today around the NHL is whether or not the Stanley Cup will be hoisted tonight in San Jose by the Pittsburgh Penguins, or will the Sharks find a way to get the Stanley Cup Final to a Game #7 back in the Steel City.
The Sharks have been a team that in this spot for years would have already folded like a cheap tent, but this year has been a little different with them winning big games against the Kings in the first round and they carried over their new swagger all the way to the Finals.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been the best team in the NHL since the middle of March and now will they be able to close out the Sharks on their second chance this time on the road.
Speaking of finality, this really has been a rough week for all of the all-time greats with us losing Muhammed Ali earlier in the week and Gordie Howe at the end of the week.
Mr. Hockey played well before my time of watching hockey, but his legend is just as big as ever and a player so many player looked up to. Many people of spoken of him better than I could, and I’ve added some of those conversations in this mornings links.
You know you’re starting to get old when all of the greats are leaving us, and it’s especially tough when two leave us in one week. A pretty rough week, but we sure appreciate everything they did to make their sport and the world a better place.
