Good Morning CHicago Blackhawks Fans!

The calendar finally turned to summer last night somewhere around 8pm which is great news if you ask me since the Chicago Blackhawks summer started a long time ago in the month of April.

You know it’s officially summer around the NHL when trades start to happen before the draft and the start of free agency. Of course the Chicago Blackhawks actually kicked everything off with the surprising trade of Teuvo Teravainen to the Carolina Hurricanes as a sweetener to take Bryan Bickell off the Chicago Blackhawks books.

Yesterday we saw two trades take place with the Anaheim Ducks moving one of their two starting goalies in Frederik Anderson to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a 1st and 2nd round draft picks.  Toronto promptly signed the goalie to a 5 year extension.

The other trade that went down was the New York Rangers trading the rights of Keith Yandle to the Florida Panthers for some picks.

The trades usually start really picking up with the draft right around the corner, it’s just a shame that the Chicago Blackhawks have no picks in this years draft, but don’t worry Stan will be hard pressed to move next years top draft pick with the 2017 draft being held in Chicago next summer.

So do you expect anymore Chicago Blackhawks trades this week?
