Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks fans!

The NHL calendar is full steam ahead to the NHL draft which also means it’s one of those times of the year when you can seriously crank up the rumor machine.

So let’s take a quick look at the current rumors that have been circulating the Chicago Blackhawks world the past few days.

The one I truly don’t understand is the Evgeni Malkin to the Chicago Blackhawks rumor, but it hasn’t just gone away.  Malkin makes a ton of money and the Chicago Blackhawks have absolutely no wiggle room with their salary cap so I don’t see how this is really a rumor.

The next one is that Andrew Shaw and Marcus Kruger are on the trading block which seems pretty strange at least the Kruger part.  I’m not sure what the Chicago Blackhawks get back in return from either player besides late draft picks which are pretty worthless unless your name is Mr. 5th round Andrew Shaw.

The last rumor floating around is the one about the former first round draft pick Mark McNeill being on the trading block.  McNeill didn’t really get a shot last year even though there were plenty of Rockford Ice Hogs getting their debuts which means that Joel Quenneville has little use for McNeill so a new home would probably be in the Rockford Ice Hogs best interest.
