Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Big Moves

Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!
The Chicago Blackhawks are sitting pretty quiet now as the free agency period creeps closer and closer, and yet the NHL wasn’t quiet yesterday afternoon with some blockbuster franchise altering moves being made.
Wednesday afternoon was a crazy time around the NHL and it all started with the Edmonton OIlers sending Taylor Hall to the New Jersey Devils for defenseman Adam Larsson. This one would think is a hugely lopsided trade with the Oilers losing with an ok young defenseman for a pretty rock solid offensive threat.
The next trade was the one that really caught my attention at work when my phone buzzed with an NHL trade alert. The Montreal Canadiens sent P.K. Subban to the Nashville Predators for Shea Weber. Before talking about this trade here is a quirky trade history fact about the Montreal Canadiens and trading stud defenseman.

The Predators actually have a star to build around in the P.R. Department while the Preds better hope that Shea Weber plays out his contract or they will be in a heap of trouble with salary cap ramifications.

The last big move was the fact that Steven Stamkos re-signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Everyone assumed he was heading to Toronto or Detroit but in the end no income tax and sunshine ruled the day for Stamkos.
