Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans!

The Chicago Blackhawks prospect camp kicked off yesterday, and after nearly 3 months of not seeing any live hockey it sure was good to see some Blackhawk prospects back on the ice on Sunday.

The player everyone was focused on watching Sunday had to be Nick Schmaltz since he recently signed.  It was interesting to read his comments that he was thinking of signing even before Teuvo Teravainen was traded because of all of the holes in the Chicago Blackhawks lineup.

Of course there were other players out there that have been “Chicago Blackhawks prospects” for some time like Ryan Hartman.  Hartman has been labeled an Andrew Shaw type of player which when asked he owned a surprising thing to me since most players want to have their own identity.

There are other players like Tanner Kero and Vincent Hinostroza that want to play in Chicago full-time and are looking to make a final statement at prospect camp.  Well, today is Day #2 of prospect camp and with two more months of no hockey to talk about, I’ll take prospect every day in July.
