No. 34: C Bill Gardner (1980-86, 1987-89)
This is another number that doesn’t have the greatest history in Chicago. Gardner may be more well known for his time spent in the Blackhawks’ broadcast booth with Pat Foley, and he’s now calling action with the Chicago Wolves.
Gardner was fine as a role player for the Blackhawks, netting 178 points in 354 regular-season games and another 11 points in 45 playoff games. Gardner actually received Selke Trophy votes during the 1984-85 campaign. He spent nearly his whole career in Chicago, minus 26 games with Hartford during the 1985-86 and 1986-87 seasons.
