Chicago Blackhawks’ Best At Each Sweater, Nos. 41-50
By Colin Likas

No. 49: G Michael Leighton (2003-04; 2015-16)
Did you know Leighton, maybe most remember in Chicago for allowing Patrick Kane‘s Stanley Cup-winning goal in 2010 with Philadelphia, started his career in Chicago? He wore No. 30 for a brief run in 2002-03 before switching to 49 the following season. He wasn’t good, posting an 8-21-10 record.
He went on to a little more success in Carolina and Philly before finding his way back to the Blackhawks organization. While he played in just one game with the big club last season, he made headlines in with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. Leighton set the league’s career shutouts record on March 5 with No. 46. Cool stuff.
