No. 56: C Marko Dano (2015-16)

Six guys have played with this number for the Blackhawks. And Dano’s two points in 13 games is the most compiled by any of the six. Seriously.

Dano was the promising young prospect brought over in the Brandon Saad deal. The Blackhawks somehow soured on him really quickly and shipped him to Winnipeg in the Andrew Ladd trade deadline deal. That was the quick story of Dano in Chicago.

No. 57: RW Ben Smith (2010-11)

Smith wore this number for his short tenure with the Blackhawks in 2010-11, but one which was extremely memorable. Smith was the guy who snuck into the Blackhawks-Canucks first-round playoff series in 2011 and kept finding a way to beat Roberto Luongo.

Most remember his overtime winner in Game 6 of that series over a flailing Bobby Lu. That was one of his three markers in the 2011 postseason, and even though the Blackhawks lost that series, they probably thought they had a solid future piece on their hands.

Smith switched to 28 for the rest of his Blackhawks career and was just OK as a fan favorite. He had 26 points in 75 games during his only full Chicago campaign (2013-14) before being shipped to San Jose midseason the following year.
