Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! If you didn’t notice last night because of all the excitement going on at Wrigley Field last night, the Chicago Blackhawks played their final preseason game last night with a bunch of prospects on the ice.

Let’s be honest, I really wasn’t paying much attention to the Chicago Blackhawks game last night with it being the final preseason game even though I was hoping Alexandre Fortin would have a huge game and force Joel Quenneville‘s hand and keep him on the roster.

The excitement at Wrigley Field was way better than the final preseason game in St. Louis, but now that the game is over the biggest question is who’s staying and who is going.

Even before the game, the comments from coach Q was that Gustav Forsling was staying and the Chicago Blackhawks were going to carry 8 defenseman to start the season which will put them in a pinch with the salary cap.  Forsling didn’t have the best game getting burned for the St. Louis Blues second goal which ended up being the game winner.

My hope for Fortin to have a huge game didn’t come through, and he had a terrible turnover, so i expect him to be sent back to his Juniors team.  It still think he should be on the team for his youth, speed, and hockey instinct, but more than likely he’s gone.

This means there will be a couple more moves in the next day or two between players like Brandon Mashinter and Jordin Tootoo, and does Vincent Hinostroza make the final cut.  The final questions will be answered soon which means October 12th is right around the corner.
