The Chicago Blackhawks will take to the ice for the second time this weekend while the Chicago Cubs are playing in the World Series. This time they will take on an old rival the LA Kings while both teams try to get back to their old dominant ways.

The Chicago Blackhawks made a early season comeback win on Friday night that should have proved to the Blackhawks faithful that no matter how many new faces are on the roster the big guns still have a heart of a champion,  and they will not go away quietly on any night.

Of course, the Hawks need to build on that type of win they enjoyed on Friday night, and that building starts with the youngsters.  Tyler Motte, Ryan Hartman, Nick Schmaltz, and Dennis Rasmussen need to continue to improve a nightly basis while the big guns carry them in the early part of the season.

The other player that has looked pretty good has been Richard Panik that was in on the game tying goal with Marian Hossa late in the third period.  Panik has been a bright spot with so many question marks heading into the season.  I feel like all of us that watch the Blackhawks on a regular basis question is will this continue game in and game out or is this just a tease to start the season.

The Kings defense has been pretty solid all season long, but their problem has been scoring goals which has been their issue for multiple seasons now.  The key to the Chicago Blackhawks game tonight has to be get on the board early to open up the Kings defense.

It would be good to see the Hawks string together some wins, and getting one against the Kings would be a pretty sweet way to end the week.  Here are the listings for tonight’s game from the United Center
