The Chicago Blackhawks take to the ice tonight when they face the Washington Capitals, and here are some of the listings and information heading into tonight’s matchup.

The Chicago Blackhawks are riding high coming into tonight’s contest with a 7 game winning streak in their back pocket, and it will be interesting to see how they play against an Eastern Conference team that is also playing good hockey.

Both the Chicago Blackhawks and the Washington Capitals are few of the teams in the NHL with a + in the +/- goal differential.  These teams used to be goal scoring teams that would out score their opponents, but now they seem to have changed their ways to more of a defensive team that just out does enough to out score their opponents.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been carried by Corey Crawford who is having an out of this world season when it’s even strength hockey. He’s stopping pucks at a .976 clip which is definitely Vezina worthy pace.  When you add this stat with the much improved penalty kill, it makes total sense that the Hawks are on a 7 game winning streak.

The big guns have been scoring for the Chicago Blackhawks which makes them pretty fun to watch, and with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane skating on the same line it always feels like something special could happen on any shift.

The other player that has been doing great things has been Marian Hossa who looked to skating towards retirement last year has appeared to have found the fountain of youth this year.  He has scored 7 times so far this season, and looks to have his usual jump in his skates making power moves and scoring once again.

For me the key to the game against any team coached by Barry Trotz is to score first which opens up the game, plus if you score first it means you are keeping Alex Ovechkin off the scoresheet.  It should be a fun game, and here are the listings for tonight’s contest.
