Previous: 8th. Washington Capitals. 7. team. 19. Like the Blues, I really thought it was the Capitals’ year last year. They dominated the league the entire year and had to run into a hot Penguins team. The Capitals have to be asking themselves why and what needs to be changed. Their team has been stacked for some time now but just can’t get it done. Alex Ovechkin isn’t getting any younger and some may say he’s lost a step. Maybe the emergence of Marcus Johansson and Evgeny Kuznetsov will take some pressure off the big guys.. 9-4-1
