NHL Power Rankings: Eastern Conference Still Crowds Top 10

No. 12: San Jose Sharks
Previous: 13th
Season record: 13-9-1 (27 points)
The San Jose Sharks have won six of their last 10 games and jumped into the Pacific Division lead Tuesday. The week’s big news was points leader Brent Burns’ gigantic 8-year contract extension, but the Sharks have also recently lost four key players to injuries, including defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic and forwards Tomas Hertl (IR), Melker Karlsson (IR) and Tommy Wingels.
Happily for the Sharks, veteran Logan Couture is finding the net with nine goals, and goalie Martin Jones is having another great year with 11 wins and a 2.09 goals-against average.
