NHL Power Rankings: Eastern Conference Still Crowds Top 10
By George Clifford

No. 3: New York Rangers
Previous: 2nd
Season record: 16-7-1 (33 points)
Proving that sometimes the best defense is a great offense, the New York Rangers have scored a staggering 88 goals and generated a whopping plus-29 goal differential. The Rangers have ridden their one-dimensional speed game to the top of the Metropolitan Conference despite only average goaltending this year from Henrik Lundqvist.
Losing two of their last three games before eking out a win against Carolina on Tuesday, the Blueshirts would do well to broaden the scope of their team offense. Still, you have to catch them to stop them, and the Rangers are masters at creating and finishing odd-man rushes to the net.
