Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks take to the ice tonight at the United Center when they face-off against the Colorado Avalanche in their last game before their Christmas break.

The Chicago Blackhawks and the NHL play their last games before the Christmas break tonight which is fine I guess, but if I was the commissioner and the outdoor games were going to continue year in and year out I would have a different plan.

If it were my plan, the NHL would be playing an outdoor game on Christmas Day instead of letting the NBA own the day.  Why not put the NHL out there in an open air arena in an historic baseball or football field on a day where after the presents are open early in the morning you start channel surfing around noon if you don’t have to travel anywhere.

That being said, it’s still the last time we see the Hawks play until next Tuesday and the Hawks are missing Artem Anisimov and Marian Hossa tonight.  It will be another night where young prospects get some meaningful ice time.

Tonight it will be Tanner Kero getting the call from Rockford.  He played ok last season in his first go around with the Hawks, and now he gets his second shot after getting red hot in Rockford.

So hopefully Kero will be able to carry over that good play to Chicago tonight to avoid a Avalanche of losses on home ice before Christmas.
