Chicago Blackhawks’ 2016 Trades And Signings In Review

June 30th, 2016: Chicago Blackhawks signed Brandon Mashinter and Michal Rozsival to one-year deals.
Initial Reaction: WHY ROZSVIAL?! Mashinter is a depth signing. He played OK last year.
Current Assessment: Rozsival plays every once and a while. Mashinter is down at Rockford.
Grade: C
July 1st, 2016: Chicago Blackhawks sign Brian Campbell to a one-year deal.
Initial Reaction: SOUPY is back! The Blackhawks defense has gotten better in one move.
Current Assessment: Campbell has been a healthy scratch as of late. His Corsi-for numbers have dropped from last season. While he has been an upgrade, he might not be playing as well as last season.
Grade: B+
July 1st, 2016: Chicago Blackhawks sign Sam Carrick, Spencer Abbott and Pierre-Cedric Abbott to a one-year contracts.
Initial Reaction: Wow, three guys for the AHL.
Current Assessment: All three guys are in the AHL and will not play in the NHL.
Grade: N/A
July 6th, 2016: Chicago Blackhawks sign Jordin Tootoo to a one-year deal
Initial Reaction: Why did the Blackhawks sign Tootoo? Tootoo is more of a fighter than anything else. He is one of those physical forwards Q loves.
Current Assessment: Tootoo was a bad signing and he should be waived. He has 0 points in 29 games and averages 6:37 minutes of ice time per game.
Grade: F
July 15th, 2016: Chicago Blackhawks sign Mark McNeill to a one-year deal.
Initial Reaction: The Blackhawks are still trying to trade McNeill and not let him go for nothing.
Current Assessment: Bowman has not found the right deal for McNeill yet, that is why he is still in Rockford.
