For the first time this season on Sunday, the Chicago Blackhawks and Minnesota Wild will square off

With Friday’s Chicago Blackhawks loss to the Washington Capitals firmly behind us (though probably not behind the team itself, which skated this morning and probably got a hell of a workout), we turn to the team’s next game.

Sunday sees the Minnesota Wild come to town. More than halfway through the season for Chicago and these two teams have no met once. That means the Central Division rivals will get plenty familiar with one another before the regular season closes.

Even more so since the Wild are just two points behind Chicago in the Central with a ridiculous five games in hand. Minnesota will at some point overtake the Blackhawks in the standings for at least a little while (unless they duff all five games in hand), but the men in the Indian Head will try to make sure it doesn’t happen Sunday.

In the spirit of preparing for one of the Blackhawks’ opponents — especially one they and the fans haven’t seen yet this season — I reached out to another FanSided site.

Gone Puck Wild’s Danny Lambert was glad to assist me in answering some questions ahead of Sunday’s game. Here’s what we discussed ahead of this Central Division showdown.
