Nashville Predators: B+

Trades made: Acquired F Cody McLeod from Colorado for F Felix Girard | Acquired F Vernon Fiddler from New Jersey for 2017 fourth-round draft pick | Acquired F P.A. Parenteau from New Jersey for 2017 sixth-round draft pick

Explaining the grade: I really like what Nashville did at this year’s trade deadline. I think they had a really solid team in place already and simply added some glue guys to make it better without giving up much.

McLeod is whatever, and the Preds may regret departing with Girard. But adding Fiddler and Parenteau — two veterans who have been around the block and know their roles — was a nice play by GM David Poile.

The Preds didn’t give up a whole lot to get those two, either. I don’t know that the Preds needed to do that much, but what they did accomplish should support what they already have in place.
