Junior prospects

Alex DeBrincat

Alex DeBrincat was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft. He is currently playing in the Ontario Hockey League with the Erie Otters.

He recently set the record for most goals in the OHL by an American-born player. He became only the second OHL player in 40 years to score 50-plus goals in three consecutive seasons. He broke the record set by Dale McCourt in 1974-77.

  • DeBrincat has already signed his entry-level contract with the ’Hawks and many expect him to be in the NHL next season. The reason I believe that DeBrincat will be in the NHL next season is because of how high the Blakchawks are on him.

Stan Bowman has recently said that DeBrincat is an elite talent. Current NHL phenom Connor McDavid has even praised his former teammate.

    Alexandre Fortin

Alexandre Fortin was an undrafted prospect from the QMJHL. He received an invite to the Blackhawks’ training camp and impressed management enough to get signed to an entry-level contract.

The shocking part was that ’Hawks did not give him a few games, instead sending him back to juniors. Fortin was returned to the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

He excelled in the month of January:
