The 20-goal club

Toews scored his 19th and 20th goals Sunday night.  He now joins the club as the fifth Chicago Blackhawk to score 20 goals or more this season.  The other members of the club include Patrick Kane (32 goals), Panarin (24), Artem Anisimov (22) and Marian Hossa (22).  I don’t think I have to tell you this is a really good thing.

Oh, and by the way, Panik is at 19 goals, and Ryan Hartman has 16 goals on the season.  I’m sure these two are looking to join the club as well.  They have 10 more games to make it happen.

Hayden is hanging in there

Newly-signed former Yale captain John Hayden played in his third game as a Chicago Blackhawk on Sunday.  Saturday night, he scored his first NHL goal, had four shots on goal and was credited with a team-high seven hits. Sunday, he added two assists on goals from Toews and Panik.  In 17:10 of ice time, he was credited with five more hits.

Hayden is finding instant chemistry with linemates Toews and Panik.  He’s showing he can make an impact and make plays.  He’s helping out on offense, as well as being that physical presence on the top line that has been missing since the days of Bryan Bickell.  Keep up the good work, kid.
