Detroit really should hang its hat on this tidbit: It’s the only non-playoff team to beat the Blackhawks in nearly two months. Sure, the Blackhawks didn’t show up for that game, but guys like Andreas Athanasiou and Xavier Ouellet showed some nice promise, and we already knew guys like Tomas Tatar and Gustav Nyquist were viable options.
