Our Take

Ivan Lodnia is a type player the Blackhawks love to draft.  A shifty, speedy forward that can puck handle like nobody’s business (see below).  Lodnia, like Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat, doesn’t have a problem finding the net either.

With a frame a little bigger than DeBrincat, Lodnia will definitely fill out a bit more as he develops his game with the Erie Otters.  Being a little less than a point per game player, it’s still tough to predict whether players from the Otters can translate their production to the pro level or not.  Debrincat has been putting up astronomical numbers all year with line mates Dylan Strome and Tyler Raddysh.  It wouldn’t surprise me if the Hawks continued to pick fruit from same tree that bore Conor McDavid.
