Matthew Strome

Age:  18

Position:  LW

Height / Weight:  6’3″, 201 lbs.

Hometown: Mississagua, ON, CAN

Current Team: Hamilton Bulldogs

Recent Stats:  66GP, 34G, 28A, +9

Our Take:

Jonathan Toews has been most successful playing with power forwards like Marian Hossa, Bryan Bickell, and Brandon Saad flanking his sides.  If Matthew is as talented as his brothers are projected to be, he could bethat and more for Toews.

At 6’3″ 201 lbs., Strome will bulk up over the next few years and has the potential to be a premier power forward in the NHL.

In the video above, Strome shows off his heavy shot and powers his way to the front of the net putting back his own shot.  The next highlight in this game is of his shootout winner.  When I watch this, it reminds me a lot of Todd Bertuzzi.  For a big guy, he was very smooth on his skates and also methodically made his way up the ice during shootouts until he sniped the goalie at the last second.
