Alright, I’m going to say it.  I think you’re looking at the next Duncan Keith.

Conor Timmins tape shows a lot of things you would want in a top defenseman, especially on that quarterbacks the powerplay.  In the video below, you’ll see Timmins make a Brent Seabrook-like stretch pass to a streaking forward setting him up for the breakaway goal.  In his second assist, Timmins sweeps through the offensive zone and makes a pass through the crease to find a wide open opponent.

So you’re thinking, okay well Duncan Keith has some offensive skill but his defense and skating ability is what really separates him from others.  Last season, Timmons was a remarkable +53.  He also tallied 7 goals and 54 assists.  Those numbers sure look a lot like #2’s…
