It appears that almost no one is safe from trade speculation for the Chicago Blackhawks.
If you care to cruise Twitter for any length of time today and yesterday, you would find all sorts of speculation regarding what could be happening on the trade front for the Chicago Blackhawks. From what I can gather, only Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, and Duncan Keith appear to be safe to remain in Chicago. Everyone else is on the table, including core players, and including players with no-movement clauses. It seems as if the finagling is limitless.

I’ve heard the names of Brent Seabrook and Artem Anisimov the most, although no one has heard of them being asked to waive their no-movement clauses yet. And then there’s been speculation about Artemi Panarin, and Niklas Hjalmarsson. I’ve heard Gustav Forsling could be packaged into something as a good prospect. I’ve even heard Corey Crawford’s name thrown out there. That he might be involved in a trade that would allow the Hawks to obtain another No. 1 goaltender who makes less money. Oh, the drama!
Of course, it appears that Marcus Kruger will be a Golden Knight, but no official announcement has been made. Why is that? Is something else going down that we don’t know about? And it sounds like Trevor van Riemsdyk could be the one exposed to Vegas in the expansion draft, hence the signing of Jan Rutta.
I, for one, have been checking Twitter like there’s no tomorrow. When the heck will something be announced?! Which of our beloved players is going to get the axe? Just tell us already so we can deal with it and move on. The suspense is killing me!
And then there’s this whole Cup thing.
