What if the Chicago Blackhawks traded top-line center and team captain Jonathan Toews? What would be a fair value return?

First and very foremost, I do not believe the Chicago Blackhawks would ever trade captain Jonathan Toews, nor do I advocate for them to do so. But there seems to be a section of the Blackhawks community that believes trading one of the top talents the franchise has ever seen, to be a good idea.

So for argument’s sake, what would really be a fair return for Toews?

Side question: Who would the Blackhawks make captain with Toews gone? Duncan Keith? Brent Seabrook? Patrick Kane? Could they go the route of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens and San Jose Sharks in recent years and have multiple alternate captains until a leader emerges?

Also something to consider: Toews has a no-movement clause in his contract, so that would have to be waived in order for Chicago to make a deal.

Just a few things to ponder within this idea of trading the arguable face of the franchise over the last decade in Toews. I have done my very best to be non-partisan in this process, but I am only human.
