6. Luc Snuggerud, defenseman

Snuggerud may be the first prospect out of this group to see NHL ice because of the Blackhawks’ lack of defensive depth.  He had a great camp, showing he was reliable in the defensive zone, and broke up many offensive chances with his poke check.

He didn’t make any mistakes that I saw, his breakouts were smooth and he had a calm demeanor that coaches look for in defenseman.  He and Robin Press will be on deck for defenseman call-ups this year.  Snuggerud edges Press just because of his speed.
