5. Matt Iacopelli, forward

As we get into the top five, I will say these are the elite prospects in the Blackhawks’ pool.  Nobody will argue with me when I say that Matt Iacopelli had the best shot in prospect camp.

He had a great year at Western Michigan scoring 20 goals, but only had one goal with Rockford through eight games last season.  Expectations will be high for this kid in Rockford this year, as he will get top-six minutes.

I did notice he was shooting a lot in camp and didn’t pass much, but that will be developed a lot this year.  My expectations for him are to have a good training camp and get a call-up this year if he’s tearing it up in the AHL.
