With the 2017-18 season just a few months away, we take a look at the three main areas that will all need to be working for the Chicago Blackhawks to have success both in the regular season and the postseason

With the turn of the calendar to August, we are just about two months away from the start of regular-season hockey once again. While many of the summer months are spent looking at which players will be added in free agency, which prospects could move up and which team members may be traded, we have really taken the turn where the Chicago Blackhawks’ roster seems to be set for 2017-18.

With that, we can start looking ahead at the coming season and look to see what the ‘Hawks will need to go right in order to have a successful 2017-18 campaign. 

While there are many pieces and moving parts to any roster, there are some factors we are for sure on that will need to work for the Blackhawks to win games. As I alluded to in my recent post on Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane‘s contracts, there seems to be three main keys to the formula general manager Stan Bowman is assembling on this roster. Let’s take a look at them.
